The new 15,527 square-foot Waupaca Regional Center Campus of Fox Valley Technical College includes 10 instructional program spaces (classrooms and labs), and is the home of the Waupaca Area Job Center. This highly energy-efficient building reflects Fox Valley Technical College's progressiveness and commitment to sustainability. Some of the renewable energy and "green" features include a solar thermal system that provides domestic hot water and radiant in-floor heating; a 30 kW photovoltaic system producing electricity to operate the building; motion controlled lighting; structural insulated wall panels; automated building control systems; exterior window shading to reduce heat infiltration during the summer; and recycled building materials and low volatile organic compound emitting components. This project was completed on a tight budget within 6 months.
