Description:
Ellis served as the construction manager and general contractor on this project. Ellis was involved in pre-construction services including expertise in value engineering, which kept the project within the budget while maintaining the integrity of design. Ellis, working closely with the owner and architect, was able to allow the owner to maintain full operation of the existing facility throughout construction. Careful planning of a phased demolition and construction process provided smooth transitions with minimal disruption of services. The project consisted of a 29,000 square-foot addition incorporating a new E.R. facility, outpatient clinic, administrative offices, and new public entries as well as retail facilities for pharmacy and optometry services. The original building complex also underwent 6,000 square feet of remodeling work to upgrade the existing hospital pharmacy and remodel and expand the existing medical imaging facilities.
